Intellisensor Maximises Savings

New LED highbays are improving things at Health World Limited, who are a leading natural medicine supplier with substantial warehousing facilities in Northgate, Brisbane.

Haneco the clear winner

The warehouse has just undergone a huge LED retrofit of the existing HID highbay luminaires. After various lighting companies were consulted, it was Haneco that had the best performing, best value solution. From initial discussions, lighting design, in situ testing, roll out, commissioning and testing, right through to post sales support, Haneco was the clear winner on all fronts.

Payback period well under 2 years

The facilities manager, Ben Retallik, opted to maximise energy savings by using the Haneco Intellisensor option on the 120W SKYPAD highbays selected. A low glare diffuser, coupled with a reflector, was chosen to reduce glare for their warehouse staff when picking stock from elevated racking. As Ben points out, “Glare control, uniformity, increased light levels and substantial cost savings were the goal here and Haneco delivered on all fronts”. He went on to explain that “Our own calculated payback period for this upgrade has come in well under 2 years with the savings we have seen on operational and maintenance costs.”

Tweaking and adjustments

There was some tweaking and adjustments made to the detection area mode on the Intellisensors mounted to the highbays, so that they would detect movement and ramp up from the 30% standby mode at just the right time and then ramp down after 90 seconds. Haneco’s technical team were available to assist Health World staff in getting the settings just right. The detection range was reduced from 16 metres to 8 metres to allow for walk up activation which works beautifully. Other adjustments were made to the standby period, hold time and standby dimming levels, all controlled through a series of dip switches on the sensor.
